Curtis B. Roberts, President, graduated
from the University of Texas in Austin in 1954 with a degree in
Insurance and Finance, an accreditation in Surety from the National
Surety Corporation in 1955, and an advanced degree in Credit Management
from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1957.
Mr. Roberts began his career with the National Surety Corporation
and Firemans Fund Insurance Corporation and rose steadily through
the ranks, from Special Agent, to Branch Bond Manager, to Regional
Bond Manager and on to National Assistant Manager, Surety Operations.
In 1968, Mr. Roberts joined Highlands Insurance Company in Houston
as Senior Vice President, National and International Surety Operations.
During his tenure there, he handled the account of Brown and Root,
the then largest construction company in the United States. He
was also one of eleven founding members of the Pan-American Surety
Association.
Mr. Roberts joined Mills-Roberts and Associates in 1974 and has
served as President since 1977. During this period, he has been
involved in all aspects of the National Association of Surety
Bond

Producers and served as its National President in 1987-88. Mr.
Roberts was also a Director of the National Association of Casualty
and Surety Agents for six years, a founder, first Associate Member
and Director for six years of the North Texas Chapter of the Associated
Builders and Contractors, a Director for eight years of the American
Subcontractors Association, North Texas Chapter, and received
a National Distinguished Service Award and was National Chairman
of the National ASA Surety Committee.
